First step

To get started, you need to add your dev token from Facebook in the Add token section:

Ztool supports two types of tokens: App token and Profile token. We recommend using the App token as it is a more reliable and tested method.

How to create an App token:

  1. In My Apps:

    • Create app

    • Other

    • Business

  2. App settings: (optional, if you plan to use Ztool for advertising)

    • Basic: Privacy policy URL - add some URL

    • App Mode: Development -> Live

    • Choose app

    • Add all permissions

    • Generate Access Token

    • Click the (i) icon near the generated token

    • Open in Access Token Tool

    • Extend Access Token (at the bottom of the page)

    • Get extended token (check expiration date with the Debug button)

As a result of adding a token in the Tokens section, your first token will appear. The name field in the table is clickable - by clicking on it, you can go to the page where you can edit the name, token, and view all the accounts, pixels, and pages connected to it.

At this point, the setup for data transmission from Facebook is complete, and data on your ad campaigns will start to be collected.

Data is collected with a small offset of a few days - if you need to obtain all historical data for the token, see the section Run Import.

Integration with Zeustrack

Campaign data (costs) can be transferred to the Zeustrack tracker (see the Campaigns section). All you need to do is specify the corresponding campaign name in the campaign settings. The settings for data export are located under the campaign name:

There are two setup methods:

1. Manually (enter the Facebook campaign name manually).

2. Automatically (the system will automatically parse campaign names from Facebook, which are separated by spaces or special characters, e.g., "dkFJfndfuj"). If this ID is included in the campaign name, it will automatically start aggregating and sending the campaign data to the tracker. For example, if the Facebook campaign name is something like "Some Campaign - DjdnfurJfh - 123," Ztool will recognize it and begin exporting it to the tracker. Currencies are also converted.

In case you face problems passing Revenue information from tracker to Zeustool:

You need to paste https://ztool.io/postback?id={campaign.id}&payout={payout}(copy it exactly as shown) in the appropriate Traffic Source, which in most cases will be Facebook.
