Adding a New Traffic Source
Updated over a week ago

To run a campaign, you first need a steady stream of traffic to target. Traffic sources provide you with these visitors, and the following section shows you how to configure a traffic source template within Zeustrack.

Instructions

1. Add a new traffic source. Main menu - select traffic sources, click on add new traffic source.

2. Define a name.

3. Set your traffic source postback URL (optional) and tokens (optional). Read more about setting up postback for a traffic source here.

4. Advanced option, configure the variables to your traffic source. In a configured Zeustrack traffic source template, click ID tokens are generally mapped into the External ID field.

Refer to this article to know more about what variables are and how to use it.

5. Use the {visit.externalid} placeholder in the postback URL to pass the Visit ID back to the traffic source. A complete list of tracking parameters can be found here.

6. Use other fields to define placeholders for campaign URL you will use to send traffic to. You may find the full list of parameters for Facebook here.

7. Configure Lander parameters. Zeustrack has a feature to set a list of variables to be automatically passed to your lander when user follows your campaign link in the traffic source. For example, you might use this feature to send visit ID or some custom data to any lander of the campaign. Or you are running a Facebook campaign and need a Facebook Pixel ID to be passed from campaign settings to your lander. Use Lander Parameters section of Traffic Source to create a list of variables.

Parameter

A name of the variable to be passed to your lander.

Form Label

A readable name of the variable, displayed in the forms.

Default Value

You may use any URL token as a default value.

8. Save you traffic source.
